Initiative, Referendum and Referral
To place an initiative or referendum on the ballot, supporters must obtain a specified number of signatures from registered voters. The number required is determined by a fixed percentage of the votes cast for all candidates for governor at the general election preceding the filing of the petition.
Search the Database
Search the State Initiative, Referendum and Referral database by year, status and type. This contains current and historical data.
Circulator Training
Paid circulators must complete an on-line training program and register with the Secretary of State prior to circulating any initiative, referendum or recall petition.
