    Dear Lane County voter;

    It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as your Assessor for the past four years. During this time my employees and I have worked very hard to provide you with timely, accurate, fair and professional appraisal and property tax service. You can now obtain more information about property taxes and pay your property taxes on-line at our website 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

    Oregon is facing financial challenges. It is more important than ever that government is operated efficiently and cost effectively. As Assessor I have saved the county money by finding efficiencies in the way we do our work; not spending our full budget; and returning the savings to the county. At the same time the dedicated employees in my office have performed to high standards qualifying the county for $1.8 Million a year in state grants.

    I am committed to upholding the integrity of the property tax system by ensuring accuracy and accountability in our appraisals and correctly applying Oregon's voter approved tax limitations to your property tax bill. Your property tax dollar goes to pay for local schools, police, fire protection, libraries, parks, and other essential services that make Lane County a great place to live.

    I am proud to serve you and our community in this important role. To learn more about Oregon's property tax system, visit us at: www.lanecounty.org/at

    Sincerely,
    Anette Spickard
    Lane County Assessor
