Occupation: State Representative.
Occupational Background: Information Technology and Business Consultant.
Educational Background: University of Illinois; Southern Illinois University
Prior Governmental Experience: U. S. Air Force and two terms as State Representative.
Community Involvement: Member of Hillsboro, Cornelius, and Forest Grove Chambers of Commerce, Hillsboro Elks, Hillsboro Lions, Aloha-Hillsboro Rotary, and Hillsboro American Legion.
I'm proud to have represented you in the Oregon Legislature during the last two terms. I've done my best to honor your trust in me by concentrating on the issues that are most important here at home:
Public Safety: After 15 years of budget cuts, I helped restore 24/7 coverage by the State Police. I am working to establish statewide radio coverage so that communications will not be cut in times of disaster.
Plain Talk: My Plain Talk Oregon Bill (House Bill 2702) helped make it easier for citizens to communicate with their state government.
Lowering Health Care Costs: I helped reduce the cost of prescription drugs and hospital stays but more work needs to be done. I'll continue fighting to make health care accessible and affordable.
Protecting our environment while growing our economy: I helped create a free, statewide electronics recycling program to lessen the impact of landfills and am working to make Oregon a leader in development of wave, wind, and solar energy to create more jobs for Oregonians.
Education: I support world-class education for our children including full day kindergarten and smaller class sizes.
I feel good about our accomplishments over the last two terms, but there's still much work to be done. I'm committed to finding solutions to the challenges facing our community and our state.
