Reasons for running for District Attorney:
My main emphasis is to hold offenders accountable, and I will administer justice in a careful and informed manner for the benefit of the citizens of Wheeler County. I bring a solid background in the law and a concerned and professional approach to the District Attorney's position.
Experience in the legal profession:
My background includes 12 years of criminal prosecution; criminal defense; local government law and administration in 10 years as county counsel; and general law practice, all of which I can draw on as District Attorney to make sound, reasoned decisions. I have been a member of the Executive Committee of the Criminal Law Section of the Oregon State Bar for six years and have served as Chair and Secretary.
A professional approach to the District Attorney's duties:
- I will work closely and cooperatively with police agencies in the investigation and preparation of cases.
- I will have an open-door policy in the DA's Office and work with all citizens to become a member of the community.
- I will work at the state level with the Oregon District Attorneys Association and the Criminal Law Section for the good of Wheeler County.
- I will stay current on changes in the law and be thoroughly prepared when appearing in court.
