Toby Forsberg isn't a politician. He's a community leader with new ideas for the challenges we face. He's a native Oregonian and a former small business owner. Toby lives with his wife and young son in Oregon City.
MOVING SALEM BEYOND BUSINESS AS USUAL
Toby believes it's time to move beyond partisan bickering to finally change the way our government does business.
- Make health care more affordable: Toby knows many families are only one medical emergency away from bankruptcy. That's why he's committed to ending unreasonable health care costs, cutting waste in administrative spending and using that savings to lower premiums and improve patient care.
- Cut government waste: As a fiscally responsible business leader, Toby will demand our government be accountable and transparent when it comes to spending our money. Forsberg will push for tougher audits of state agencies to force government to live within its means. Toby also understands the importance of keeping education dollars in the classroom, where they belong.
- Support returning combat veterans: Forsberg knows it's our duty to help veterans get the support they need to resume their lives by expanding veterans' housing, education and healthcare services.
- Protect jobs: Toby knows we must do more to protect family-wage, skilled jobs in this country and stop giving tax breaks to corporations who ship jobs overseas.
