Standing Up For Consumers

In 2008, I led the effort to end foreclosure rescue scams. I will continue to strengthen consumer protection laws so Oregonians are not victimized by unscrupulous business practices.

Improving Public Education

As a public school parent, I am committed to strong schools, pre-K through college. I am working to improve civics education and to ensure that schools have enough funding to provide a world-class education and to build and maintain school facilities.

Building Our Economy

I support strengthening our Rainy Day Fund and repairing our aging transportation system, which is critical for keeping commuters and commerce moving.

Better Access to Health Care

The high costs of health care and the number of uninsured Oregonians affects us all. Health care reform is a top priority, and I will work on expanding access and controlling costs.

Cleaner, Safer Communities

I am leading efforts to reduce pesticide use in and around schools, and I will work on finding solutions to climate change and ways to reduce our dependence on foreign oil. As a member of the Judiciary Committee, I play a key role in passing laws to fight meth-related crime.
