A Message from Susan Castillo

It is clear to me from my years of working as a television reporter and my experience in the legislature, that we all want the same things . . . a good education system, a clean and healthy environment, family wage jobs, safe neighborhoods, and a well-planned transportation system.

That's why I will work for adequate, responsible funding of education at all levels, from preschool to higher education.

That's why I will work to defend our land use and environmental laws and look for new ways we can bring people together on those issues.

That's why I support economic development efforts that help communities develop employment opportunities.

That's why I support increasing access to programs that prevent criminal behavior.

That's why I support a comprehensive transportation plan that provides adequate funding to maintain the roads we now have and provides flexible funding for our future needs.

I will work to base public policy decisions on what's best for today and tomorrow. The quality of life for future generations depends on that kind of leadership.
