JOBS AND THE ECONOMY
Oregon's schools, health care, and public infrastructure build the foundation
for our economy. State government must focus on keeping Oregonians working
at good jobs and creating commercial opportunities for businesses to thrive.
For 22 years, Jim Morton did what many lawmakers only talk about; he created jobs.

Oregon needs a meaningful rainy day reserve fund. Exclusions, deductions,
and credits that drain state revenue should be examined. It is our responsibility
to adequately fund schools, human services, and public safety while remaining
accountable to Oregon taxpayers.
"(Jim Morton) has the kind of business savvy that Democrats need in a Legislature grappling with tax and budget issues." The Oregonian, 4/21/04
