RESTORING OREGON'S ECONOMY
The Legislature must focus on policies that foster job creation and economic growth. That starts with policies that help Oregon's businesses grow and hire more workers. The last thing our economy can afford is a rising tax burden that causes Oregon's small, family-owned businesses to look elsewhere.
RESTRAINING GOVERNMENT SPENDING, LIMITING TAXES
As our families do, the Legislature must spend responsibly, prioritize, and budget within its means. With the state facing a budget deficit in excess of $2 billion next year, we must control the growth of spending to protect the vital services we expect out of our tax dollars.
EDUCATION: OREGON'S FIRST PRIORITY
The quality education of our children and students at every level must be our top priority. Education is our investment in Oregon's future and ability to attract and retain good paying jobs for families today and tomorrow.
Families should be able to count on safe streets, drug-free schools, and gang-free neighborhoods. Andre will support upholding voter-approved prison sentencing requirements and making sure criminals serve adequate time for violent crimes.
