Over the years I have been asked to "run" for the Justice of the Peace position. When the position opened up just over a year ago I was asked again to consider applying. I did, and I was "recommended"(Hood River News 9/17/08) to fill the position after interviewing with the Hood River County Board of Commissioners. Now it is your opportunity to consider whom you would pick for the position.
I will make many changes to the Justice Court operation that will make the Court experience more effective and pleasant for you.
- Create a "Violations Bureau"(ORS 153.800) that will allow the Court Clerk to settle many violations quickly.
- Offer evening hours for those who can't afford to take time off of work to appear or call.
- Develop phone and web sources for information.
