Local Results – National Leadership
As we work to recover from the economic meltdown that threatened not just our economy but our nation, we still face challenging times. I am running for re-election because the stakes are higher than ever before. This is our decade of decision: we must reform Wall Street, improve health care, reduce global warming and rebuild America.
Fiscal Fitness More accountability and less manipulation from Wall Street is fundamental for a strong economy. Ensuring the stability of Social Security and changing the tax code is key to the security and well being of millions of American families.
Rebuilding and Renewing America Investing in sewer, water and transportation projects improves communities and creates jobs, especially when we squeeze more value out of what we do. Strengthening education creates a globally competitive workforce.
Reforming Health Care No family should have to go bankrupt because of medical expenses. Reforming health care will mean more jobs for Oregonians and more security for our families.
New Energy Future We can no longer waste more energy than any country in the world and sit back while China takes the lead in creating green jobs. By focusing on renewable energy technology, we can create jobs and protect the planet.
Oregon has a proud tradition of focusing on the common good and the common ground. Whether it was the bottle bill, public beaches or innovative healthcare programs, we changed the rules to make Oregon the pioneering state that it is today. Now is the time to move forward with common sense ideas and action.
I deeply appreciate your support and respectfully ask for your vote so that I can continue fighting for Oregon.
